Ages 13-18. We will be reading and discussing "Color Me In" by Natasha Diaz. Growing up in an affluent suburb of New York City, sixteen-year-old Nevaeh Levitz never thought much about her biracial roots. When her Black mom and Jewish dad split up, she relocates to her mom's family home in Harlem and is forced to confront her identity for the first time. A powerful coming-of-age novel pulled from personal experience about the meaning of friendship, the joyful beginnings of romance, and the racism and religious intolerance that can both strain a family to the breaking point and strengthen its bonds.

We Read Diverse Books is a book club for teens [thirteen and up] who want to read social justice-based stories from and about underrepresented voices. We will be reading a variety of formats, including fiction, graphic novels, and non-fiction.

***For the first 12 registrants, books will be provided as giveaways, as long as you are signed up at least 2 weeks prior to the event. Books may also be available to check out from the library and on hoopla or Overdrive. Leave a valid email address so we can contact you about receiving your copy, as well as send you the online meeting invitation.***
